Gardens for Life provides landscape and garden design that reconnects humans with
nature. Through partnerships with clients, we design and install
beautiful organic gardens and outdoor spaces that nourish the soul. We
specialize in low-maintenance and drought-tolerant designs, as well as
restoration of natural habitat. We educate clients to enjoy taking care
of their gardens in a way that benefits all living things.

Experience
and Training
Dori Smith, M.A., M.Ed., owner of Gardens for Life, is trained and accredited as an Organic
Land Care Professional by the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA).
Ms. Smith has many years’ experience in
organic garden design and plant care. Formal training in landscape design,
ecology, and horticulture is in certification programs at the New England School
of Gardening (Clark University/Tower Hill Botanical Garden) and the New England
Wildflower Society.
Writing
and Education Services
Ms. Smith is a published writer, photographer, and educator. She writes articles and offers lectures and workshops on numerous topics. She has a Master's degree in Instructional Design, and worked in the corporate environment as a training program designer and project manager.
